Decorating Trends for April 2011

White is one of the classy and beautiful decorating trends for April 2011. Especially, white walls and white bedrooms. Does white make you think boring? Think again.

The pureness and simplicity of white contrasts beautifully with dark wood, creating high drama and a restful space at the same time. Organic cottons provide just the right surface for lovely dressmaking details like hand-cut eyelet medallions, strings of embroidered pearls, and satin-stitched vines.

The key to pulling together a beautiful bedroom is to vary the shades of white and add lots of texture. Pottery Barn does it to perfection with their new white linens.

Handcrafted details and tone-on-tone embroidery are reminiscent of the linens that brides created for their trousseaus a century ago.

What is that shade on the walls? Pottery Barn has picked four lovely Benjamin Moore whites for 2011.
