Vintage Condo in Fashionable Denver Uptown
Gets a New Look

This elegant, turn-of-the century vintage condo had survived many configurations before being transformed into a fashionable Uptown Denver residence. But even with two sets of turret windows, leaded glass, expansive wood floors, original doors and built-ins everywhere, it came across more drab than dazzling.

The owner wisely decided to update and decorate for her own personal enjoyment, but also with a future buyer in mind. She consulted with me on how to do both, and then ran with it. Here are her amazing results.

Living Room Before

Living Room After

What Happened in this Room?

  • Wood floors were refinished throughout the condo

  • Walls were painted Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige, still soft, but warmer and more interesting

  • Two side chairs show off the bay window and hide the radiator

  • Pretty green rug anchors the sofa, adding color and picking up the shade in the marble fireplace surround

  • Soft green throw pillows in the same shade provide continuity

  • Owl painting in green and blue sets the color theme for the rest of the condo

  • Ottoman doubles as a coffee table and breaks up the long narrow feel of the room

Dining Room Before

Dining Room After

What Happened in this Room?

  • Kilim Beige lightens and brightens the walls

  • Black panels at the windows add drama, show off the leaded glass and echo back to the black chair cushions

  • Elegant silver candlesticks and a pretty green runner continue the color theme and are in perfect harmony with the vintage but updated feel of this home

Kitchen Before

Kitchen After

What Happened in this Room?

  • Paint! Kilim Beige was painted above the chair rail, and Nomadic Desert adds weight and interest below

  • Cabinets get a fresh coat of white paint

  • New black counters add drama

  • New stainless steel appliances are classy and will appeal to any buyer

  • A touch of greenery provides life and freshness

Bedroom Before

Bedroom After

What Happened in this Room?

  • Kilim Beige again, on the walls

  • Night stand provides a more finished base for the lamp

  • A new platform bed and pretty bedding in a soft blue and gray echo the colors set by the owl painting in living area and provide elegance, charm and continuity

  • A few well-chosen books and accents top off a simple, but beautiful look

The Outcome?

Sold! A sooner than expected career moved prompted the owner of this vintage condo to list the property. And she was ready. A staging company brought in the props for the rooms she wasn't able to furnish herself and the results were dazzling!
